This Memorial, with its sculpture representingthe horror of the emaciated bodies of the dead victims of theNazis at the Dachau Concentration Camp, was unveiled in 1968 infront of the center portion of the operations building, now theMuseum. The Museum photo exhibit shows a picture of this building,when the camp was in operation, with a Nazi slogan painted onthe roof which reads "There is one way to freedom. Its milestonesare: obedience, zeal, honesty, order, cleanliness, temperance,truth, sense of sacrifice and love for the Fatherland." Thesame slogan decorated buildings at other sites as they were addedto the Nazi concentration camp system.
