The photo above was taken in Westphalia, MO, a small town that was established in the 1830ies by immigrants from Westphalia, Germany. Notice the church steeple which is reminiscent of St. Peter's Church in Geseke. Among the German immigrants to Missouri from Westphalia in the 19th century were the Samson family from Geseke and the Ahrens family from the town of Delbruck.
