Catholic Church of the Mortal Agony of Christ was
built in 1960
The Church of the Mortal Agony of Christ stands at the north
end of the main camp road on an oasis of grass surrounded by
a ring of dwarf oak trees. The Church has no Christian cross,
but instead is topped by a crown of thorns made out of twisted
iron bars. The church was built in memory of 2,579 Catholic priests
who were inmates in the Dachau concentration camp.
