Reconstructed watch tower B on west side of camp

This is where soldiers of the 45th Thunderbird Division and the 42nd Rainbow Division of the US Seventh Army shot German SS guards who had surrendered and were flying a white flag from the tower. SS-Totenkopfverbände 2nd Lt. Heinrich Wicker had already surrendered the concentration camp to the 42nd Rainbow Division.
