Sign near parking lot directs visitors to Dachau Memorial Site

The Memorial Site, on the grounds of the former Dachau concentration camp, is called the KZ Gedenkstätte. KZ is an abbreviation of Konzentrationslager, the German word for concentration camp. The Memorial Site is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Monday. It is closed on Christmas Day and Yom Kippur.
