Scrapbookpages.comAbout Us Scrapbookpages began in July 1998 with a series of color photographs, taken in May 1997 at the Memorial Site of the former concentration camp in Dachau. At that time, it was one of the first web sites which featured photographs of Dachau as it looks now. Scrapbookpages.com was the first web site which showed such places as Dachau, Auschwitz and Theresienstadt from a tourist's point of view. The photo of Barracke X, shown at the top of the page, was taken in May 1997 and was included on our original web site. The photo below was our first cover picture on the home page of our web site.  Over the years, scrapbookpages.com has grown to 1346 pages and over 5,000 photographs. This web site is designed for travelers who are interested in history. Despite the name scrapbookpages, it has nothing to do with "scrapbooking." Our purpose is to provide information to tourists about what to expect at places of historical interest which they are planning to visit, and to give virtual tours for armchair travelers. Students have used our web site as a source of information and photographs for school reports. Our pages are also of interest to veterans of World War II and people who lived through the war years. We strive to put historical facts into context and to illustrate our pages so as to give our readers the feeling of being there. Some of the old photographs on our web site were contributed by our readers; we welcome such contributions and will gladly add them to our web site.
