Kreichgauer House A short distance down the street from the market square, Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse intersects with Wieningerstrasse. The white house on the corner, at Wieningerstrasse 17, is the Kreichgauer House. Dr. Erika Mayer had a dental practice in this building during World War II. Prisoners from the Dachau concentration camp were secretly brought here for dental treatment by the kapos in charge of the camp, who were prisoners themselves. Dr. Mayer also collected food for the Dachau prisoners and managed to slip it to them when they came to the town to work in forced labor. At one time this building was a prison before it was purchased in 1925 by Wilhelm Kreichgauer, the president of the municipal court in Dachau.
